Safety and Liability Notice

Somerset Sheep Trekking operates as a working farm, which means that machinery and general farm work may be in progress during your visit.

Safety Precautions:

  • Child Supervision: Children must be closely supervised by an adult at all times. The farm environment can present hazards, and it is crucial that adults are responsible for the safety of their children.

  • Animal Behavior: Farm animals, including sheep, can be unpredictable. While we take extensive precautions to minimize risks, we cannot guarantee against unforeseen incidents.

  • Terrain: The terrain may be uneven, slippery, or wet. Please follow all instructions carefully and take extra caution during your visit.

Health and Hygiene:

  • Infection Risk: Although the risk of infection from farm visits is minimal, diseases can be serious. To reduce risk, follow basic hygiene practices such as washing hands with soap and water after contact with animals and before eating. Hand sanitizers, wipes, and sprays are not effective.

  • Pregnancy Precautions: For safety reasons, we advise that pregnant women avoid visiting the farm during lambing season (February and March) due to potential zoonotic infections that could pose risks during pregnancy.
